Every facial piercing we offer starts the same way — with an honest look at your anatomy. Placement that works with your face heals better, looks better, and lasts longer. We assess before we mark, and we mark before we pierce.
The nostril is our most requested facial piercing — and one of the most versatile piercings on the face. A flat-back stud sits discreetly in the nostril curve, or switch to a ring after healing for a completely different look. We always start with a stud and switch to a hoop once healed.
Placement in the natural curve of your nostril is everything. Too high and it catches on everything. Too low and it sits awkwardly. We assess your anatomy, mark the spot, show you, and only proceed when you approve it.
The septum passes through the columella — the soft tissue at the base of the nasal septum, not the cartilage. When placed correctly in the “sweet spot,” it heals comfortably and sits centered. Once fully healed, a circular barbell can be flipped up inside the nostril entirely, making it functionally invisible. During healing, leave it undisturbed.
Deviated septum? That doesn’t automatically disqualify you. We assess each case individually and give you an honest answer before anything is committed.
The eyebrow piercing is a surface piercing that passes through the skin above the eyebrow. Because it’s a surface placement, migration and rejection are real considerations — we explain this honestly before proceeding. Proper jewelry sizing and precise placement dramatically reduce the risk.
We use implant-grade titanium curved barbells for eyebrow piercings only. The curve of the bar must match the anatomy of the brow for comfortable healing. Straight barbells significantly increase rejection risk and are never used here.
Lip piercings pass through the tissue around the mouth — labret (below center), Monroe (upper left), medusa (upper center philtrum), vertical labret, Ashley, snake bites, spider bites, and shark bites. Each has different anatomy requirements and aftercare considerations.
We use flat-back labret studs for all initial lip piercings that have interior backing. The flat back sits comfortably against the inside of the mouth. Oral aftercare is equally important — we walk you through both external and internal cleaning before you leave.
We offer the traditional single vertical tongue piercing only — no horizontal tongue piercings, no snake eyes, no venom piercings. The traditional placement is the safest, most anatomy-friendly option with the best long-term outcomes for oral health.
Tongue piercings swell significantly in the first 1–2 weeks — this is normal. We start with a longer barbell to accommodate swelling and downsize at 4–8 weeks. The downsize is critical: a long bar in a healed tongue contacts teeth and gums on every jaw movement.
These aren’t upsells. They’re the baseline for every appointment at The Piercing Boutique.
Initial healing vs. full maturation — both matter before changing jewelry.
