Eyebrow Piercing in Homer Glen, IL
A bold statement.
Precise placement.
The eyebrow piercing is one of the most visually striking facial piercings — and one of the most placement-sensitive. A curved barbell passes through a pinch of skin above the eyebrow ridge, with both decorative ends visible from the front. When placed correctly, it frames the face beautifully. When placed incorrectly, it migrates.
At The Piercing Boutique, every eyebrow piercing begins with a thorough anatomy assessment. The angle of your brow ridge, the available tissue, and your facial structure all determine optimal placement. You approve the exact entry and exit points before anything happens.
We pierce eyebrows exclusively with implant-grade titanium curved barbells. The curve follows the natural contour of the eyebrow ridge, minimizing pressure on the tissue channel. Straight barbells are not appropriate for eyebrow piercings and significantly increase rejection risk.

Surface Piercing — Important
Eyebrow piercings pass through a pinch of skin above the brow ridge rather than through solid cartilage or a defined body part. All surface piercings carry a higher risk of rejection and migration than cartilage or soft tissue piercings. This is not a reason to avoid the piercing, but it is a reason to choose an experienced piercer who places it correctly, uses appropriate jewelry, and prepares you for what to watch for during healing. We discuss this at every consultation.
Why Choose The Piercing Boutique
What makes us
different.
01
Anatomy-Assessed Placement
Eyebrow placement is not a fixed point — it depends on your specific brow ridge, available tissue, and facial structure. We assess all of this before marking, so the finished piercing sits where it will heal best and look most intentional.
02
Curved Barbell Required
We pierce eyebrows exclusively with implant-grade titanium curved barbells. The curve matches the contour of the brow ridge. Straight barbells in an eyebrow piercing create constant angular pressure on the tissue channel and dramatically increase rejection risk.
03
Surface Piercing Expertise
Eyebrow piercings are surface piercings — a category that requires specific knowledge of angle, depth, and jewelry selection. An experienced piercer who understands surface work produces dramatically better healing outcomes than a generalist.
04
Honest Migration Counseling
We tell every eyebrow client honestly about the rejection and migration risk that comes with surface piercings. You leave informed — knowing the early signs of migration means you can act before it becomes a problem.
05
Single-Use Sterile Needles
Every piercing at The Piercing Boutique is performed with a sterile single-use hollow needle, opened in front of you. Autoclaved tools, hospital-grade surface disinfectants. Nothing reused.
06
Aftercare Support Throughout
Call or message us throughout the healing process. Eyebrow piercings require attentive aftercare and we are available to assess any concern before it becomes a complication.

What We Pierce With
Eyebrow jewelry —
every stage.
Initial Piercing
Titanium Curved Barbell — 16g
A curved barbell in implant-grade titanium, sized specifically for your brow ridge anatomy. Initial post is intentionally longer to accommodate healing swelling — downsized at 4–8 weeks. Both ends have small CZ or titanium ball tops.
Healed Upgrade
Decorative Curved Barbell Ends
Once healed, both ends of the curved barbell can be upgraded to more decorative pieces — larger stones, shaped decorative ends, or color-anodized options. The curve and gauge stay the same; the ends change.
Long-Term Wear
Implant-Grade Titanium Throughout
Eyebrow piercings wear implant-grade titanium curved barbells for both initial and long-term wear. Decorative titanium ends in various colors, stone styles, and sizes available as upgrades once healed.
Not Suitable
Straight Barbells or Rings
Straight barbells and circular rings are not appropriate for eyebrow piercings. They create angular pressure on the tissue channel and significantly increase migration and rejection risk. Curved barbells only — no exceptions.
We use implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium for all eyebrow piercings. No surgical steel, no plated pieces. The material sitting in a surface placement for the next year of healing must be biocompatible and low-reactivity from day one.

Questions & Answers
Eyebrow piercing
FAQ.
Does an eyebrow piercing hurt?▼
Most clients describe a quick pinch and pressure — over in under a second. The eyebrow area has moderate sensitivity. Most people rate it 3–5 out of 10. The anticipation is almost always worse than the procedure.
Will my eyebrow piercing reject?▼
Eyebrow piercings are surface piercings and all surface piercings carry a higher rejection risk than cartilage or soft tissue piercings. Correct placement angle, appropriate jewelry (curved barbell only), and careful aftercare all significantly reduce this risk — but cannot eliminate it. We discuss this honestly at every consultation. Knowing the early signs of migration means you can come in before it becomes a scarring issue.
How do I know if my eyebrow is migrating?▼
Early signs include: the jewelry appearing to tilt at a different angle than when first pierced, increased visibility of the bar between the entry and exit points, thinning skin over the jewelry, or the ends appearing closer to the skin surface than before. If you notice any of these, come in for an assessment promptly — caught early, migration can often be addressed before significant scarring occurs.
Can I wear glasses with an eyebrow piercing?▼
Yes, but glasses frames that rest on or near the eyebrow piercing site can create friction and pressure on the healing surface channel. Monitor for irritation bumps and consider the frame fit relative to your piercing placement. Your piercer can adjust placement to minimize frame contact for glasses wearers.
How long does an eyebrow piercing take to heal?▼
Typically 6–12 months. Surface piercings can appear healed on the surface while the internal channel is still forming — continue aftercare for the full healing period. A downsize appointment at 4–8 weeks is important for correct jewelry fit during healing.
Why only a curved barbell — no rings?▼
The curve of the barbell matches the natural contour of the brow ridge, distributing pressure evenly along the tissue channel. A straight barbell creates angular pressure at both ends — pushing against the skin at the entry and exit points — which accelerates rejection. Rings move too much. Curved barbells are the only appropriate jewelry type for an eyebrow piercing and we don’t make exceptions to this.
Can I get both eyebrows pierced at once?▼
Yes — both eyebrows at the same appointment is common and appropriate. Both heal on the same timeline and require the same aftercare. The practical consideration is that sleeping position management is slightly more involved, and you’ll want to ensure the placements are symmetrical and look balanced together before proceeding. We map both before the first needle.
Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?▼
Both. Walk-ins are welcome first come, first served. Book ahead at
thepiercingboutique.com/booking to guarantee your slot. Hours are Monday 12–7pm, Friday–Saturday 12–8pm, Sunday 12–7pm. Closed Tuesday through Thursday.
