Sometimes you have a piece of jewelry you love but can’t get in yourself. Sometimes your piercing is in an awkward spot. Sometimes you just want to make sure it’s done correctly. That’s exactly what we’re here for.
For a $10 service fee, we can insert or remove suitable body jewelry — yours or ours — after checking your piercing and the fit. Walk-ins are welcome first come, first served. Walk in during studio hours and we’ll take care of it.
Whether it’s a downsize on a healing cartilage piercing, swapping to a new piece you bought elsewhere, upgrading to something from our jewelry collection, or just removing a piece you can’t reach yourself — we assess what is appropriate and explain the next step before proceeding.

Need help with a tight fitting piece, stuck threading, or a hard-to-reach placement? We assess the jewelry and piercing first, then explain the available removal options.

Downsize Appointments
Downsizing replaces an initial longer post with a shorter one when swelling has settled enough and the fit is appropriate. Timing depends on your piercing; book a professional fit check. The $10 change fee does not include new jewelry.

Already have a piece? Bring it in. We’ll assess it, confirm it’s appropriate for your piercing, and insert it correctly. We work with threadless flatbacks, internally threaded posts, seamless rings, hinged clickers, curved barbells, horseshoe circulars, and more.

We carry implant-grade titanium and solid 14k gold body jewelry — flatback studs, hoops, clickers, seamless rings, and decorative tops. Browse in-studio and we’ll put it in for you.
Honesty Policy
We’ll Be Honest About Fit
If the jewelry you bring in has the wrong gauge or diameter, or an unsuitable material for the piercing — we’ll tell you before attempting the change. We’d rather give you honest advice than force an ill-fitting piece into a healthy piercing.

How much does a jewelry change cost?▼
The service fee is $10 per change for professional insertion or removal after we confirm that the piercing and jewelry are suitable. If you buy a new post, top, ring, or other piece, the jewelry is priced separately. We confirm the cost before proceeding.
Do I need an appointment?▼
Walk-ins are welcome first come, first served during studio hours. Book online to reserve an appointment time, or call (708) 787-4445 with questions about same-day availability.
Can you change jewelry from another studio?▼
Yes. We assess piercings regardless of where they were originally done. We check the piercing, healing stage, and jewelry before deciding whether the requested change is appropriate.
What is a downsize and do I need one?▼
A downsize replaces an initial longer post with a shorter, correctly fitted post once swelling has settled enough. Timing varies by piercing and healing progress. Come in for a fit check; a downsize during healing is different from a decorative jewelry change. The service fee is $10, with new jewelry priced separately.
Can you change jewelry on a healing piercing?▼
Some healing piercings may need a professional fit adjustment or downsize. Decorative changes should wait until the piercing is ready. We assess your piercing before making a change and explain the recommended next step.
My threadless top keeps falling out. Can you help?▼
Yes. We can check the connection and fit to determine whether the top needs an adjustment or whether a component needs replacing. The $10 service fee is separate from any replacement jewelry.
Can you put in jewelry I bought online?▼
Bring it in for an assessment. We check its material, condition, gauge, and dimensions, along with your piercing. We only proceed when the jewelry is suitable; we cannot promise that every outside piece can be inserted.
Do you sell body jewelry in-studio?▼
Yes. We carry implant-grade titanium and solid 14k gold body jewelry, including studs, decorative tops, rings, clickers, and barbells. Available styles and sizes vary. Jewelry is priced separately from the $10 change fee.
Can you help me switch my nostril stud to a hoop?▼
We assess whether your nostril piercing is ready for a hoop and check the required fit. Healing progress and jewelry dimensions matter; we may recommend waiting or choosing a different piece.
Where are you located and when can I visit?▼
The Piercing Boutique is at 15738 S Bell Rd, Homer Glen, IL 60491. We are open Monday and Sunday 12–7pm, and Friday and Saturday 12–8pm. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are closed. Walk in during studio hours or book online.
