Questions & Answers
Jewelry change
FAQ.
How much does a jewelry change cost?▼
$10 flat fee. That covers putting in or taking out any body jewelry — yours or ours. No additional charges for complexity or location.
Do I need an appointment?▼
No — walk-ins are welcome on a first come, first served basis during all studio hours. If you want to guarantee a specific time, you can book an appointment. For jewelry changes, most clients simply walk in.
Can you change jewelry from another studio?▼
Yes. We work on piercings regardless of where they were originally done. We’ll assess the current state of the piercing and the existing jewelry before making any change. If the piercing isn’t healed enough for a safe change, we’ll tell you honestly rather than proceed and risk healing progress.
What is a downsize and do I need one?▼
A downsize is when the initial longer healing post is replaced with a correctly fitted shorter one — typically at 4–8 weeks after your piercing, once swelling has fully resolved. A post that’s too long allows excess movement in the piercing channel, which disrupts the still-forming fistula and extends healing time. If you were pierced here, we remind you about your downsize at your appointment. If you were pierced elsewhere and never had one, come in — it’s a $10 change that can make a significant difference.
Can you change jewelry on a healing piercing?▼
For downsizes at 4–8 weeks — yes, that’s exactly what a downsize appointment is for. For aesthetic changes during healing — we’ll assess the fistula maturity before proceeding. If the piercing isn’t ready for a change, we’ll tell you and advise on timing. We won’t make a change that risks a piercing that’s healing well.
My threadless top keeps falling out. Can you fix it?▼
Yes — a loose threadless top just needs the pin bend adjusted to restore tension. It’s a two-minute fix at the studio. Come in as soon as you notice it loose — a top that falls out of a healing piercing can allow the channel to start closing very quickly. Covered by the $10 change fee.
Can you put in jewelry I bought online?▼
Yes — bring it in and we’ll take a look at it. If the gauge, diameter, and material are appropriate for your piercing we’ll insert it. If there’s a fit issue, we’ll let you know before attempting anything. We’d rather save you from a bad change than complete it and cause a problem.
Do you sell body jewelry in-studio?▼
Yes. We carry implant-grade titanium and solid 14k gold body jewelry — flatback studs with a range of decorative tops, seamless rings, hinged clickers, curved barbells, and more. Browse in-studio and if you find something you love, we’ll put it in for the $10 change fee. Jewelry is priced separately.
